1 - DC Power Supply for Motors**
The 560* ohm resistors can be changed asneeded depending on the power supply voltage needed for your stepper motors. With a 5 volt supply my leds are running just above 5ma.

**A computer power supply with minimal load requirements. Load resistors can be added to meet the minimum load requirementsand fuses added to the output lines for safety.



You can download the compiled main winder and the step drive sequence programs by right clicking on the links to the right and selecting "save link as" or "save as".

I have included compiled program versions for the legacy 16F877A and 16F876A microcontrollers in the event that someone already has them and wants to try the winder and sequencer program. If you need to purchase the microcontrollers I recommend buying the newer 16F887 and 16F886 parts.

Use the files below with a bootloader program.



Note:

When programming the PIC chips with the 20 MHz program versions the oscillator setting should be HS.

The unused (not connected) i/o pins on the microcontrollers are set as outputs and set low by the program.

After you install the main program you will have to set and save the motor steps, step delay, and wind ratios for each wire gauge in the EEPROM menu.

To run 7.5 degree (48 step) motors with the sequencer ic set to full step mode. Set the motor steps to 48 and the step delay to 16 as a starting point.

To run 7.5 degree (48 step) motors with the sequencer ic set to half step mode. Set the motor steps setting to 96 and the step delay to 8 as a starting point.
